Flight Simulator Download Review

Flight simulator downloadFinding a great flight simulator download shouldn’t be expensive, crash your computer, or waste your time.

Unfortunately, in the past, I’ve wasted hundreds of dollars and crashed several computers in my search to find the perfect games.

Along the way I’ve discovered that you must always look for three characteristics before you spend money.

You can avoid making the same expensive mistakes I did by looking for three things in your flight simulator games.

Before I get into the details, I should tell you that I’m an experienced pilot, currently working on getting my instrument rating.

I’m practically addicted to flying, and when I play flight simulator games I want it to be as close to the real thing as possible.

Right now, I’m working nearly 80 hours a week, so I can’t spend as much time as I’d like flying. When I can’t get in my Cessna Skyhawk 172, nothing gives me more joy than playing great flight simulator games. I’ve downloaded and played several flight simulator games on the market including the more popular (paid) versions and free versions.

Three things that you absolutely must look for in your flight simulator download:

#1: The flight simulator should have more than just great graphics.

While great graphics are fantastic for any flight sim, I always look for more before I buy. If I can find a product (or free version) that uses real airports, genuine scenery (that’s updated regularly), and authentic airplanes/helicopters/jets.

The best simulators I’ve played always go out of their way to make sure they have the most up to date, current, and accurate plane models.

Another key factor that makes the flight simulator download feel more like the real thing is accurate weather. Some flight simulator games are now even including integration with weather.com to provide up to the minute weather conditions.

Essentially, you should look for a game that offers more than just good graphics, and has many true-to-life features.

Flight Simulator Games#2: The flight simulator shouldn’t take up a lot of space on your computer.

The thing that bugs me more than anything about almost every flight simulator download is that they require a super-computer to run them. I’ve crashed more computers because of an overbearing flight sim than I care to remember.

Additionally, if you are operating on a Mac, make sure the flight simulation downloads you’re wanting to buy is supported on Mac computers.

I’ve owned both Windows and Mac computers and a few times I forgot to check to make sure the flight sim was compatible with my computer (this is more relevant for Mac users).

#3: The flight simulator games must have free (and ongoing) updates and great support.

This is incredibly important. Don’t buy any flight simulation games that won’t offer you great support AND ongoing updates.

I’d rather spend more money on a flight simulator download that offers me ongoing updates and a 100% money back guarantee, than risk my money on a free or cheap game that doesn’t offer this “safety net.”

The flight sim I use (click here) really excels at the three things mentioned above. Even if you’re a Mac user (like me), this flight simulator download will work beautifully on your computer.
